Enhance the usability and security of your general ledger by restricting access, improving traceability, and speeding up common tasks within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Improvements to the Chart of Accounts

The following improvements have been added to the Charts of Accounts:

• Restrict viewing of Chart of Accounts
• Bulk disable default direct posting to General Ledger accounts
• Show all dimension fields on General Ledger Entries
• Show additional fields on General Ledger Entry to improve traceability

Reconciliation for General Ledger accounts

General Ledger Entries can now be applied in the same way as Customer/Vendor Ledger entries to reconcile clearing and suspense accounts.

Importing and Exporting General Journal to Excel

Export a General Journal template to an Excel worksheet, complete the journal in Excel, and then import it back for posting.

Posting Data Validation

Advanced General Ledger introduces two posting date controls which can help improve validation of your posting dates posted by your user's documents:

• Always Allow Posting Today
• Posting Date Posting Action

Unique External Document Numbers

Advanced General Ledger includes an option to check if the External Document Numberhas already been used. This includes changes to both sales and purchasing:

• Sales External Document No.
• Purchasing Vendor Invoice No.
